The Jean Makers Watch.
One of the best things about Seiko’s 5 Sports collection - besides its affordability, good looks and robustness — is the amount of experimentation that occurs through collaborations.
The Denham proposal included 5 designs to reflect the iconic 5. Due to constraints 2 went into production. The first drop is the jean makers watch. The second drop is the field watch launching Spring 2025.
The jean makers watch takes its cues from premium denim but keeping a sports watch aesthetic. The dial, bezel and strap all use different shades of indigo. The nylon NATO strap is stitched in traditional denim tabac colour. The stitch pattern is also translated to the chapter ring, where 60 stitches have been engineered into 60 second markers. The dial face deploys a dark indigo sunburst dial. The iconic Seiko triangle index at 12 o’clock as been inverted to highlight Denham’s scissor label hem branding on all tops. The calendar can be set to both Western or Kanji week days.
My role included complete collaboration management from design to production.
